HOW TO MAKE BACON

Toucinho, as it is known by most of the population, is very versatile in Brazilian cuisine.

As far as pork bacon is concerned, it is mostly made from pork belly. As for the artisanal version, it consists of a mixture of salt, sugar and various types of pepper. Use these ingredients to season the pork belly and store in the refrigerator with a lid. The entire process usually takes a week.

After this time, wash to remove excess. Once this is done, place in the oven. The time may vary depending on the power of the stove. The shelf life tends to be three months.

Industrial versions of handmade bacon, in addition to being more agile, tend to rely on the use of smoke. This process helps to fix artificial scents. Although artisan bacon is more expensive, it yields more and tastes fantastic.

BACON HARM

Bacon is high in salt and fat. These two ingredients, in addition to dictating the flavor of bacon, make the food have an extended shelf life.

It is known that the fat present in this food promotes the texture of the food and the salt enhances the flavor. Therefore, doctors suggest that people with hypertension and heart problems do not include this food in their diet.

BACON IN THE DIET

One of the healthiest ways to eat bacon is to prepare it in the oven. The strips can be baked for ten to twenty minutes.

Still in this perspective, if you want, bacon can be made in the pan without the use of oil or olive oil. This is because the fat contained in bacon is enough.
